Champaign

Battery was reported on the 2500 block of Southmoor Drive around 2 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, a female acting as a mentor for Champaign schools battered a student on the bus. No arrests have been made at this time.

Theft was reported at Maytag Coin Laundry, 519 N. Neil St., around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, a female reported her purse was stolen from a table inside the laundromat.

Robbery was reported on the 1200 block of Northwood Drive around 8 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the male said he was hit in the face multiple times by another male who stole money from him.

University

Unauthorized charges to a debit card were reported Monday. According to the report, the charges were made on Sept. 23. The debit card is still in the student’s possession and it is not known how the offender obtained the card information.

A messenger bag containing cannabis was reported at Illinois Street Resident Halls, 1010 W. Illinois St., around 11 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, a student employee was working the front desk when someone turned the bag in. Police took possession of the bag.

Theft through an online purchase was reported Thursday. According to the report, a student reported he purchased a cellphone for $150 from an online acquaintance though Facebook Marketplace. However, the cellphone that was shipped to him was an older version of the cellphone advertised online.

Urbana

An arrest was made on the charge of trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 700 block of Elm Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, the suspect spent the night in an unsecured vacant apartment room. Upon further investigation, it was found that the suspect was in possession of drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol.

Theft was reported at Circle K, 2011 N. Lincoln Ave., around 2:30 a.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender entered the store, concealed a bottle of liquor and left without paying for the item.
