Letter: Library facelifts

The Undergraduate Library’s “Extreme Make-Over Library Edition” is unfortunately not as successful as ABC’s “Home Edition.” Replacing the cubicles with lounge chairs and tables is a huge waste of space as people are not going to sit down next to someone they don’t know. Also, the new set-up is a little too comfortable for a library setting, as it more facilitates napping rather than studying. If you go to the bottom floor during busy library hours, you will notice that the few remaining cubicles fill up first because students prefer to have a designated private space where they will not be bothered. The cubicles also ensure that the silent reading level stays quiet.

I am extremely disappointed with this change and hope that the library reinserts the cubicles or at least does not try to compete with any more lousy reality TV shows.
