“Love in Real Life” — Lizzo
Lizzo makes a return to music following an unforgettable 2023. From being featured on the “Barbie” soundtrack to a lawsuit that almost ran her out of the music industry, this first single kicks off a new era. With punchy guitars and an ’80s feel, she makes it clear she is here to stay, singing, “I might make an appearance since I look this fine/ And plus it’s been a while.”

“Delete Ya” — Djo
Releasing the second single from his upcoming album, “The Crux,” Djo does not stray far from the sound listeners have grown to know and love. The slowed synth guitars and his distinct high notes in the chorus are nothing new. However, the accompanying kicks of the drum make for a more engaging listen. Reflecting on a past love he wishes to “replenish and repeat,” Djo delivers a blend of fresh and familiar sounds.
“Crashing” — d4vd, Kali Uchis
Nineteen-year-old singer-songwriter d4vd has found immense success in the music industry. “Crashing” is the third single off his debut album, “WITHERED,” set to release on April 25. The song is simple, sweet and straight to the point. d4vd’s characteristically soft yet powerful voice, paired with Kali Uchis’ soulful delivery, backed by a smooth R&B track, makes for another desirous ballad in d4vd’s repertoire.
“safeword” — Halsey
In her latest single, the fast-paced and intense “safeword,” Halsey is screaming to the world. With harsh vocals and howling guitar and drums, she takes the listener for an absolute thrill ride. “I don’t gotta listen to you, I won’t stand for it,” she sings, giving the listener a shot of adrenaline.
“Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else” — Benson Boone
After last year’s “Beautiful Things” exploded in popularity, Benson Boone proves he’s not going anywhere with “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else.” Tackling the complicated emotions that come after the end of a relationship, the song remains upbeat and moves with a distinct pace, with a bouncing guitar and hopeful vocals.
“confession” — girl in red
Short and bittersweet, girl in red’s latest single, “confession,” is a sorrowful track marinating in feelings of loss. With only the strum of a guitar accompanying haunting vocals, the song allows for a brief stay in feelings of sadness.
“FXCK UP THE WORLD” — LISA, Future
In a crossover nobody saw coming, BLACKPINK’s LISA joins forces with Atlanta-based rapper and producer Future for “FXCK UP THE WORLD.” About as brash and confrontational as the title would suggest, the track is a forceful and catchy departure from LISA’s usual K-pop fare.
“Bleed” — Malcolm Todd, Omar Apollo
Indie singer Malcolm Todd teams up with alternative R&B hotshot Omar Apollo for “Bleed,” a slick and groovy single about a potential lover. “Bleed” is the second single from Todd’s upcoming self-titled album, which is being released on April 4. While Apollo has made his name known with two previous studio albums, Todd is a relative newcomer to the music scene, and this single offers a look at a promising career in the indie sphere.
“Praise” — Panda Bear
Animal Collective co-founder Noah Lennox, also known as Panda Bear, returns to the scene with “Praise,” the first single from his new album, “Sinister Grift.” “Praise” isn’t anything flashy, but its mellowed-out garage rock sound comes as second nature to Lennox. This leading track is a strong return for Lennox’s solo career.
“Hands” — Alex Isley
The daughter of soul and jazz legend Ernie Isley, Alex Isley carves a new niche for herself with “Hands,” a sensual single that marks Isley’s first solo release since 2021. “Hands” is a soft tribute to her father’s R&B and funk roots, with a simple bassline and a muted drum beat making for all the backing Isley needs to give a fantastic Badu-esque vocal performance.
