If you’re looking for a nearby, budget-friendly restaurant, there are plenty of options available around campus. Campustown boasts a cluster of inexpensive eateries where students can find delicious food. 

Fat Sandwich Company

Situated between Campus Ink and Underground Printing, Fat Sandwich Company has an impressive menu of sandwiches, burgers and sides. At this sandwich shop, you’ll receive colossal portion sizes without draining your wallet. Fat Sandwich specializes in both funny sandwich names and wacky sandwich flavor combinations. If you come to eat at the Fat Sandwich Company, prepare to see sandwiches stuffed with chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, mini corn dogs and jalapeno poppers. Some menu favorites include the Fat Milf sandwich, Mac N Cheese Bites and the Fat Frat, which can all be purchased for under $10. 

Bangkok Thai

Located on Green Street, Bangkok Thai is a favorite among students. With customizable heat and spice levels on every dish, Bangkok Thai offers plenty of meals that provide quality food at a budget-friendly price. Menu items include the Basil Chicken, Pad Kee Mao, Fried Rice and several curry dishes. The restaurant also has vegetarian options like Oriental Tofu, Bean Sprouts with Tofu and the Oriental Vegetable. Bangkok Thai is a staple of Campustown and provides inexpensive meals with large portions. If you’re searching for quick service and a tasty meal, Bangkok Thai will sate your hunger without breaking your wallet. 

Cravings 

For over 20 years, Cravings Restaurant has been serving students meals from all over Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, China and India. The restaurant boasts a large menu with each item costing below $10. Popular menu options include the Sesame Chicken, the Hot and Spicy Chicken, the Mongolian Beef and the Chicken Lo Mein. With massive portions at incredibly low prices, Cravings has pleased the wallets and stomachs of many broke college students. 

Cracked: The Egg Came First

Cracked began with a simple food truck that catered to the University campus. In 2017, Cracked opened its restaurant on Green Street and has been a popular Campustown breakfast spot since then. The French Toast Bites, the Morning Bender, the Hungry Chief and the Goy Vey are popular menu items. With an inexpensive variety of breakfast options, Cracked is the solution to any student’s early morning cravings.

Manolo’s Pizza and Empanadas

Manolo’s Pizza and Empanadas is known for its New York-style sourdough crust pizzas and Argentine-inspired empanadas.  With gourmet pizza toppings like caramelized onions, fresh basil pesto, goat cheese and chicken, Manolo’s is an excellent choice for students craving quality food at an affordable price. Manolo’s offers a variety of empanadas, such as the Chicken Jalapeno, the San Telmo Pollo, the Nada Breakfast Burrito and the Raspberry Cheesecake. The hole-in-the-wall restaurant also serves sandwiches and salads in addition to pizza and empanadas.
