Roger Ebert’s Film Festival has been rescheduled for Sept. 8-11 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will take place at the Virginia Theatre in downtown Champaign.

Ebertfest has hosted many online events since spring in place of the festival this year, and organizers are continuing to plan more throughout the year.

Festival passes for the next Ebertfest will go on sale online on Jan. 4 and individuals who have passes for the canceled 2020 festival can use them for the upcoming event.

Ebertfest was founded by Roger Ebert in 1999 and took place in Urbana-Champaign each April to celebrate films that do not receive the recognition they deserved during their original runs. His festival allows filmmakers to present their work once again to the public during the five-day event.
