Conference Center groundbreaking scheduled for Monday
The I-Hotel is located at 1900 S. First Street. Representatives of the University will celebrate the groundbreaking of the Conference Center at the center and I-Hotel Monday.

A $13 million project that almost doubled its size, the Illinois Conference Center will now have 140 more parking spaces and a 12,500 square foot exhibit hall.
Representatives from the University will celebrate the center’s groundbreaking on Monday at 3 p.m. at the I-Hotel and Conference Center, located at 1900 S. First St.
The entire expansion added a total of 32,500 square feet to the center.
“The expansion will provide the campus and community with a dynamic event space that can hold more than 600 attendees at one time,” a press release stated.
