Best Drunk Food: Unofficial edition

Front of McDonald’s on Green Street on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016.

By Natalie Stewart

In preparation for the day’s activities, it’s only right that we compile a list of eateries that are sure to give you a break from all the “studying” and apple juice you’ll be drinking. Here’s the day’s top five food stops.

#5 McDonald’s

You can never go wrong with good ole’ Mickey D’s! Open 24 hours in most locations with breakfast served all day, it’s a must-visit for that early morning “Study Sesh.” And with the dollar menu, you can’t go wrong. I mean, after all, you probably already spent most of your money on apple juice anyway. Grab a quick McGriddle and a hash brown, and you’re good to go!AG

Cracked is a local favorite known for their vast assortment of eccentrically seasoned tater tots and filling breakfast sandwiches. With most of their options under 10 bucks, it is sure to hit the spot without hitting the wallet too hard. But keep in mind, this one is mobile, so be sure to check ahead of time for locations and hours, so Cracked won’t keep you on the run. Although the hours my change for Unofficial, Cracked is scheduled to be at the corners of Matthews and Springfield as well as Goodwin and Oregon on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.AG

#3 Wingin Out

This one is strictly for the carnivores. If you’re looking for a filling meal with a lot of spice, Wingin Out is the way to go. With over 14 different sauces and three different dry rubs, there is a flavor to satisfy every taste bud. This option is definitely a late night treat, as it’s open from 4 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. They also have specialty and regular milk shakes for those who want a break from their “apple juice.” Wingin Out has delivery options for those who feel so enthralled in their “studies.”AG

#2 Antonio’s

If you’re a pizza traditionalist, Antonio’s is not the place for you. Definitely a spot for the adventurous, Antonio’s offers much more that the traditional pepperoni, sausage and cheese toppings that we are all used to. From Mac and Cheese pizza to Avocado Quesadilla pizza, the adventurous eater is sure to be satisfied, especially after a long day of drinking apple juice. Because of its wild popularity, there is sure to always be a long line — especially on a Friday night. But don’t you fret, that Buffalo Chicken Bleu Cheese pizza will be so worth it in the end.AG

#1 Fat Sandwich

Last but certainly not least is a student favorite: Fat Sandwich. With the eccentric sandwich pairings and generous portions, the menu definitely lives up to its name. This option is definitely not for the faint of heart or weak stomach, as its options have crazy ingredient combinations and a racy, PG-13 name to match, like the “Fat Milf.” Fat sandwich is open from 12 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. It also delivers for those who just can’t pull themselves away from their late night/early morning study group sessions.AG
