NYC subway taking Mets fans for last ride to Shea game

NEW YORK (AP) – Mets fans are getting a vintage New York City subway car for their last nostalgic ride to the final regular season home game at Shea Stadium.

Trains board in Times Square just after 11 a.m. Sunday, arriving at Shea at about noon.

The ride on the No. 7 train that took millions of fans to games for more than 40 years is courtesy of New York City Transit. The agency’s spokesman, Paul Fleuranges, says there’s no better way to get to the final game than on the train that served Mets fans when the stadium opened in 1964.
