Leno to give Michigan’s unemployed a free show

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Michigan’s high unemployment is no laughing matter, but Jay Leno will offer a little comic relief with a free show next month at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The “Tonight Show” host said on his Monday show that the April 7 performance will be for “anybody out of work in Detroit.”

Refreshments and parking will also be free.

People only have to say they are unemployed to get tickets to the event. Tickets will be available starting Monday at the Palace box office. Four tickets will be allowed per person.

Some members of the Detroit City Council on Tuesday questioned why Leno’s show was in the suburbs. They want him to move it into the city.
