A 29-year-old woman was injured on the 400 block of East Beardsley Avenue Tuesday night when her two-year-old child accidentally discharged a firearm, according to a report from the Champaign Police Department. The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for “non-life threatening” injuries.

Three children, aged two, ten and eleven were in the house when the shooting occurred but were not inured, according to the report.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but no further details about the situation were available.
