  • Experience: Champaign County Board (1972-1976) Champaign County Auditor (1976-1992); State Representative (D-103) (1993-1995); Mayor of Urbana (2005-present)
  • Campaign goal: “To have an open and honest government. We have a good working relationship with the mayor and council. We have a talented city staff in Urbana.”

Rob McColley

  • Profession: Musician, bartender and attorney.
  • Experience: No previous political experience.
  • Campaign goal: “Urbana hasn’t done the best job balancing students’ interests/pursuits with those of the resident, permanent population. It’s a matter of better planning, and an understanding of viewpoints and needs of both groups.”

Durl Kruse

  • Experience: Ran for city office in Ward 7 as a Democrat in 1995
  • Campaign goal: “I feel strongly about building a link between the University and downtown where the students can use bike paths. I believe in greater citizen participation in local government and the two-party systems.”

  • Campaign thought: “I would immediately hire an administrative officer for Urbana. The ordinance requires it, but the present mayor hasn’t done it for two years. The administrative officer is the public official responsible for the daily operations of the government.”
