Police Report – April 10, 2009

Champaign

  • A 52-year-old man was arrested at Chestnut Street and University Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police report, the man was arrested for public urination.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, delivery of cannabis and on an in-state warrant on the 1600 block of Williamsburg Drive on Wednesday night. According to the police report, a 911 hang-up was made from the residence, and when officers arrived the man was found to have crack cocaine, cannabis and an arrest warrant.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at John and Russell streets early Tuesday morning. According to the police report, the man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, breath alcohol over the legal limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and a traffic sign violation.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at the 1200 block of North Neil Street on April 3. According to the police report, the man was stopped for failure to signal and he was arrested for driving without a license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and unlawful use of registration.
  • Ramshaw Real Estate, 1817 S. Neil St., reported theft at the 400 block of East John Street, March 31. According to the police report, an unknown offender forcibly removed the garage door keypad and post.

Urbana

  • A 22-year-old woman reported criminal damage to property at the 2400 block of Prairie Green Drive on Wednesday morning. According to the police report, an unknown offender broke a window out of the victim’s vehicle.
  • Theft was reported at the 900 block of North Broadway Avenue on Wednesday morning. According to the police report, a business claimed that a local apartment manager was responsible for the theft of 36 coin-operated washer/dryer units.
  • A 46-year-old man reported criminal damage to property at the 1100 block of Eliot Drive on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police report, the victim drove his vehicle for about a mile and a half when the wheel fell off, causing damage to the rest of the vehicle, and the man thinks an unknown offender had loosened the lug nuts.

University

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at Sixth and Daniel streets early Thursday morning. According to the police report, the man was arrested for resisting/obstructing a police officer and criminal damage to government-supported property.
  • An unknown offender stole $200 from a cash box inside the Education Building, 1310 S. Sixth St. According to the police report, the theft occurred sometime between the morning of March 17 and the morning of April 7.
