Local theaters expect big crowds after ‘Terminator’ premiere

The midnight showing of “Terminator Salvation” drew about 400 people to the Savoy 16 theater, according to manager Dan Hedin.

With roughly one-and-a-half of Savoy 16’s two biggest theaters filled, Hedin said that ‘Terminator’ is looking to be one of the biggest summer movies of the year.

“‘Wolverine’ was not as big as we expected, and ‘Star Trek’ was really good, but … I think (Terminator’s appeal) is a lot broader,” Hedin said.

Savoy 16 has four prints of ‘Terminator’, and Hedin advised that groups arrive early to some of the later shows so that they don’t have trouble finding seats together.
