McKinley offering H1N1 flu shots at no charge

H1N1 shots will be available to faculty, staff members, and students under the age of 25 or the ages of 25-64 with chronic medical conditions at no charge according to the McKinley Health Center website.

No documentation of illness is required. The Clinic will be held on Tuesday Dec. 8 and Thursday Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff must present their I-card at the walk-in clinic in the Pine Lounge at the Illini Union. Vaccinations will be available to the first 800 people each day.

David Lawrance, Medical Director at McKinley Health Center, said he has seen a major decrease in the number of H1N1 cases over the past two weeks.

“This appears to be signaling the end of our first wave of H1N1 influenza,” said Lawrance.
