A meeting will be held about the budget reduction process for the Champaign Community Unit School District #4 on Feb. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mellon Administrative Center, 703 S. New St. in Champaign.
The District is reducing the 2010-2011 budget by $2 million due to decreases in state funding and tax caps. The cuts will require a reduction in the number of administrators, teachers and support staff.
The proposed budget cuts are posted at www.champaignschools.org. The administration is no longer recommending elimination of the elementary band/strings program but the class sizes are being reviewed for efficiency.
Public input is encouraged at the meeting.
