DEVELOPING: Sophomore falls out fraternity window, condition upgraded

At 2pm this afternoon Carle Hospital updated Jonathan Platek’s status to ‘Good and Stable’. Dave Westol, CEO of Theta Chi, said, “The (chapter) President will be filing a report with us and then we will debate, make a determination as to what, if any, action the fraternity will take after that time.”

Jonathan Platek, sophomore, is in serious condition at Carle Hospital after falling out of a third-floor window of the Theta Chi House, 1404 S. Lincoln Ave, according to the Urbana Police Department, Carle Hospital, and Ted Bodine, president of the Theta Chi fraternity.

According to the Urbana Police Department, Platek was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning. Platek is listed as a member of the fraternity on their web site.

Bodine said that the fraternity is investigating the incident and that the house’s “hearts and prayers are with Jonathan.”
