ON-AIR: Abortion Act close to becoming law

By Laurel Bollinger

A parental notification for abortion act is one step away from going into effect in Illinois. This law would mandate that a child get consent from parents or guardians before going through with an abortion. A bypass appeal rule has placed the Act closer to becoming a law. Kathie Segal from Planned Parenthood, says that the decision is in the hands of one person.

Segal also says that Planned Parenthood is hoping for a change in the rules that will allow a girl to get consent from an adult she can trust, if there are troubles at home.
