Camp Darfur comes to campus

By Marie Wilson

Members of Action Darfur pitched six tan, cloth tents on the South Quad this morning to set up for Camp Darfur, a traveling refugee camp exhibit with information about genocides throughout history.

The club contacted Stop Genocide Now, a volunteer organization founded in 2004, to bring the exhibit to the University.

Action Darfur members will solicit signatures tonight for petitions to Sen. Barack Obama and President George Bush. A speech by Gabriel Stauring, co-founder of Stop Genocide now, is planned for 7 p.m. in 150 Animal Sciences Lab to conclude the event.
