Police report

Champaign

  • The Housing Authority of Champaign County, 205 W. Park Ave., reported criminal damage to government-supported property at the 300 block of Second Street early Friday morning.

    According to a police report, a 19-year-old man pulled the fire alarm in the building, causing water damage.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 21-year-old woman reported robbery at Piccadilly Beverage Shop, 505 S. Neil St., Friday evening.

    According to a police report, a 50-year-old man grabbed the victim in an attempt to rob her. The victim was able to get away from the suspect to call police. Nothing was taken from her.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 22-year-old Mahomet, Ill., woman reported criminal damage to property at the 2700 block of Judith Drive, Friday night.

    According to a police report, a 23-year-old man keyed the victim’s car, leaving an eight-inch scratch on the hood of the vehicle.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 19-year-old woman was arrested for retail theft at Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2610 N. Prospect Ave., Friday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the offender had taken 18 cosmetics items and left the store without paying for them.

  • Two 21-year-old men and one 22-year-old man reported residential burglary at the 200 block of Chalmers Street, Thursday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender entered the victims’ apartment and took an iPod, two digital cameras, a camera bag, a memory card and two laptops.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 28-year-old homeless man was arrested for aggravated robbery at Dallas & Company Costumes and Magic, 101 E. University Ave., Friday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender entered the business and announced to an employee that he was committing a robbery.

Urbana

  • The Urbana News Bookstore, 602 N. Cunningham Ave., reported theft Saturday night.

    According to a police report, the 25-year-old woman offender was an employee of the store. She took money from the cash register and left the store unattended. The offender had not been located at the time of the report.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing justice at the 500 block of High Street early Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was issued a city notice to appear for not having a required liquor license. The offender had also lied about her age to hide her identity. The lie was discovered the following day.

  • A 22-year-old woman was issued a notice to appear in court at the 500 block of Elm Street early Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, an officer was dispatched for a complaint of loud music at the residence and the offender was issued a warning. Approximately a half-hour later, the officer was dispatched to the same apartment for another noise complaint.

  • A 52-year-old man was arrested for obstructing justice at the 2100 block of Washington Street, Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, officers were called to check the area for possible domestic disputes. Upon arrival, officers located the subjects involved and learned that the call was not justified. The offender lied about his name and date of birth and was later found to have a valid Iroquois County warrant for his arrest.

University

  • A 20-year-old Arlington Heights, Ill., man was arrested for resisting police at the intersection of Neil and Green streets Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, an officer observed the offender staggering and obstructing traffic while crossing the intersection against the pedestrian light. The offender attempted to flee the officer but was apprehended behind Tepper Electric Supply Company, 608 S. Neil St.

  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the 1100 block of West Florida Avenue early Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was arrested during a traffic stop and also cited for expired vehicle registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. A warning citation was issued for driving on the sidewalk.

  • A 30-year-old man was arrested on two Champaign County warrants at the 1300 block of West Springfield Avenue, Friday night.

    According to a police report, the offender was stopped for not wearing a seat belt and had a cracked taillight on his vehicle. The offender had also been driving with a revoked license.
