Sparks cancels concert due to illness

By Jim Vorel

Due to illness, the Jordin Sparks concert with special guest Flo Rida scheduled for Friday, April 25 at Assembly Hall has been canceled.

According to a press release from Sparks’ representative, her doctor has advised her not to perform due to “an acute vocal cord hemorrhage condition.”

Sparks has been ordered to rest in the interest of permanent vocal cord damage, and will not perform in any of her scheduled events until her condition improves.

Tickets to Friday’s show will be refunded automatically if purchased through Ticketmaster. If tickets were purchased through the Assembly Hall Box Office, they must be returned in person or mailed to: Assembly Hall Box Office, 1800 S. First St., c/o Jordin Sparks ticket refund, Champaign, IL 61820. All tickets returned by mail must include a full name and complete address.

At this time, the concert is not set to be rescheduled, according to the Assembly Hall Ticket Office.
