Suspected drug dealer arrested in Hopkins

By Hannah Hess

University police arrested a student who was accused of selling cannabis and LSD from her Hopkins Residence Hall dorm room.

Alyssa L. Kruse, an 18-year-old University freshman from Yorkville, was issued a notice on Friday, Oct. 24 to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

“The arrest was made based on a drug investigation,” said Roy Acree, lieutenant for the University Police Department.

Acree said the length of the investigation was “not even a week.”

Kruse was the only student arrested by police. The arrest and court appearance will be not be the only discipline she faces, said Acree.

“I’m sure that Alyssa will have to deal with the consequences. My experience as far as student discipline is that if someone is caught selling it usually results in some sort of suspension or dismissal from school,” said Acree.
