The University’s Moms Association is accepting applications for the annual Mom of the Year award.

The Amelia Alpiner Stern Award application is available online, and the deadline is March 13.

“The application is left pretty open because we wanted students to craft their answers however they wanted,” said Jennifer Copes of the parent programs office. “We ask specifically how a nominated mother has supported her student.”

The Moms Association Board of Directors Awards Committee is responsible for reviewing all applications. The Moms Association Board will make the final approval.

Copes said the recipient will be announced during Moms Weekend kick-off event, Explore Illinois.

Last year, Jeane Liska of Wisconsin was crowned the award.

Copes said she expects to receive about 30 applications.
