A judge has handed down a 21-year prison sentence against a Champaign man who admitted his role in the rape of a woman in Urbana last summer.

URBANA, Ill. — A judge has handed down a 21-year prison sentence against a Champaign man who admitted his role in the rape of a woman in Urbana last summer.

Authorities say 28-year-old Justin Young will have to serve almost 18 years of the sentence he received Friday afternoon after pleading guilty before Champaign County Judge Heidi Ladd to aggravated criminal sexual assault.

Young admitted that on July 13, he had forcible sex with a 19-year-old University of Illinois student after beating her with his fists.

University of Illinois Police arrested Young a month later in Riviera Beach, Fla.
