Trustees approve budget, not tuition

The Board approved the preliminary operating budget for fiscal year 2010 in the amount of $4.52 billion, an increase of 8.8 percent from the current operating budget.

The Board will review this preliminary budget throughout the summer before approving a formal budget at the September meeting.

A tuition decision has still not been made because the Board is still waiting to hear how much money the University will be receiving from the state.

“No formal tuition decision has been taken with this budget,” said Walter Knorr, CFO and comptroller for the University of Illinois.
