The new Panera Bread restaurant on campus at 616 E. Green St. in Champaign is set to open Monday, June 8, said Lauren Hitch, local marketing manager for Panera Bread. She said the store will be company owned.
When asked why the Panera Bread was opening during the summer when the majority of students are not on campus, Hitch said that many things go into the process of opening a store, and that was the way it worked out.
