University to examine ‘clout’ controversy; suspends ‘Category I’

The University announced Monday that it will suspend the use of its controversial “Category I” admissions list and appoint a task force to review the admissions process, according to a news release from the University.

The task force panel, responsible for investigating how contacts from legislators, trustees, alumni and others have influenced past admissions processes, has not yet been appointed. The University’s Board of Trustees will review the work of the task force.
