Ongoing construction along Goodwin Avenue in Urbana will result in the closing the intersection at Goodwin Avenue and Illinois Street on Wednesday.
Crews will be replacing a sanitary manhole, Jennifer Selby, a civil engineer for the city of Urbana, said.
Construction at this intersection is scheduled to end on July 11.
Before Wednesday’s construction, crews will continue working on pavement and sidewalk renewal at the intersection of Goodwin Avenue and Gregory Drive. The intersection will not be closed for this project.
“There’s going to be a curb extension, or ‘bump out,’ so the sidewalk will (have) a shorter pedestrian crossing distance,” Selby said.
