Police confirm 14 vehicles damaged in ISR parking lot

According to a University of Illinois Police Department report issued on Oct. 26, ten vehicles had been damaged in the Illinois Street Residence Hall parking lot between Oct. 21 and 23. Total damages to all of the vehicles was estimated to be in excess of $20,000.

The damages are believed to be the work of the same individual or group of individuals, as the damages on each vehicle were of similar nature to each other, said Lt. Roy Acree of the University Police Department.

It is not known at this time what, if any, object was used to inflict the damages to the vehicles.

Although 10 vehicles have for sure been damaged, the police department is waiting for supplementary reports to confirm if in fact more vehicles had been damaged in the same ISR parking lot during this time.

Hilary Osborn contributed to this report.
