Computer theft on campus

A computer valued at $1,768.26 was reported stolen Monday afternoon

from an office in the Siebel Center for Computer Science, 201 N.

Goodwin Ave., Urbana, according to a University police report.

On February 4, main library employees reported stolen computers. The theft took place between January 27 and February 1.

The report listed the stolen items to include 1 laptop valued at $1,554, 3 iMac computers at $1,076 each and 6 HP desktop computers at $639 each.

University police Detective Tom Geis said the department just received the report this morning, February 10. He said it is early in the investigation and there are no suspects as of now.
