The No. 31 Illinois women’s tennis team garnered its third straight win after defeating Wisconsin 5-2 on Friday at the Atkins Tennis Center.

The Illini had no trouble sweeping the doubles point. The No. 55 ranked duo of junior Leigh Finnegan and senior Megan Fudge are now 4-1 after downing Hannah Berner and Alaina Trgovich 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Finnegan then followed with a quick straight-set win at the No. 3 singles spot, which is her sixth consecutive singles win. The Illini then followed with three more straight-set wins at the Nos. 2, 4 and 1 spots, respectively.

The win improves Illinois to 7-6, 2-1, while Wisconsin falls to 5-10, 0-2.

Illinois will travel to face No. 22 South Carolina on Wednesday.
