MTD routes changed for Homecoming Parade
Because of the University of Illinois Homecoming Parade on Friday, 13 MTD routes will be changed beginning at 5:45 p.m. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and is estimated to finish between 7 and 7:30 p.m.
The parade’s route starts on Sixth Street and Taft Drive. It moves north, turns east onto Armory Street, continues north onto Wright Street, east on Green Street, turns south onto Mathews Avenue and finishes on Nevada Street.
Routes that will be changed include 100 N Yellow, 100 S Yellow, 2 S Red, 2 N Red, 3N Lavender Express, 4E Blue, 4W Blue, 5/50 E Green/GREENhopper, 5E Green Express, 8 Bronze, 9A Brown, 9B Brown, 10E Gold & GOLDhopper, 10W Gold & GOLDhopper,12/120E Teal, 12/120W Teal, 13/130N Silver,13/130S Silver, 14W Navy, 22N Illini, 22S Illini, 27N Air Bus and 27 S Air Bus.
Homecoming tickets still available
Illini fans have their last chances to score tickets to this year’s homecoming game.
Student voucher tickets and Block-I have been unavailable for some time, but fans can still buy single game tickets. The crowd this year is expected to be between 52,000 and 54,000, said Jason Heggemeyer, assistant director for tickets operation.

Kent Brown, assistant athletic director for media relations, confirmed ticket sales as of press time are in the low 50,000s.
Previous years’ home games ranged around 55,000 sold.
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game and can be purchased at the Assembly Hall ticket booth or at fightingillini.com.
