Students to shed clothes to shed light on women’s rights

Students will let loose a little bit more than usual this Friday.

The “Naked Bike Ride”:http://www.nakedbikeride.blogspot.com/ will take place on the Quad at 5:30 p.m. Friday. It is sponsored by Amnesty International, which is posting on the event to raise awareness of women’s rights, gas dependency and body image issues.

Participants should donate $5, either in cash or over PayPal on the website, to Amnesty International.

Although, according to the event’s website, police have agreed naked bikers will not be charged with sex crimes unless someone complains, participants are encouraged to wear underwear, body paint or a costume.

There will be a clothing drive before the event where participants are asked to literally give the clothes off their backs.
