Ameren Illinois will host an information session on Oct. 11 to outline their plans to build a new electrical transmission line.

The open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m at the Hilton Garden Inn on 1501 S. Neil St. in Champaign. Ameren will provide more information on the transmission line and also answer questions.

The proposed 138,000-volt transmission line would connect the existing Bondville Route 10 with the Southwest Campus substation.

Ameren Illinois provides energy to 1.2 million electric customers and covers more than 1,2000 communities and 43,700 square miles.
