Environmental groups on campus will host an event on Monday evening to spotlight National Food Day.
Students for Environmental Concerns, the Green Observer Magazine and the Campus Vegetarian Society will be at the University YMCA from 5 to 7 p.m., showcasing organic and sustainably produced food.
There will also be speakers that will provide more information on fair and sustainable food systems.
“Nothing brings people together like food; it only seems right to come together to share a meal and discuss how we can sustain the fruits and vegetables we love,” said Matt Rundquist, President of Students for Environmental Concerns, in a press release.
National Food Day was created to bring attention to sustainable, healthy and affordable food.
