Bar checks result in 38 citations

The Illinois State Police, along with the Champaign Police Department, conducted an Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement covert detail on Friday, October 25.

A total of 38 citations were issued by the ISP and Champaign Police. Of the 38 citations, 10 were issued at Red Lion, 10 at The Clybourne, nine at KAM’S, six at Joe’s Brewery, one at Firehaus and two citations were issued around campus street areas.

The citations were issued for possession/purchase of alcohol by a minor, possession on public property/business parking lots, resisting arrest/obstructing justice, and unlawful use of ID.

The goal of the ACE program is to reduce and prevent underage drinking in Illinois.
