Police blotter for Sept. 12, 2016

Champaign

  •  A motor vehicle theft was reported at a Jimmy John’s in the 1500 block of North Prospect Avenue around 9:00 a.m Sunday.

According to the report, the victim’s keys had been left in their unlocked vehicle overnight and an unknown offender stole the car.

  • An armed robbery was reported in the 1600 block of West Springfield Avenue around 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, the armed offender stole money from the store Circle K.

University

  • A 38-year-old male was arrested on the charge of failure to appear in court near Park and Fourth Streets around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.

According to the report, police officers had recognized the offender and were aware of his warrant for failure to appear in court.

Urbana

  •  A theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1200 block of North Goodwin Avenue around 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, the offender entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole some items including the victim’s purse, driver’s license, credit cards, and other identification items. The offender’s identity and location are currently unknown.  

  • A 30-year-old male and a 31-year-old female were arrested on the charge of retail theft at a Walmart in the 100 block of South High Cross Road around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, the offenders attempted to conceal cosmetics and toiletries and leave the story without paying.
