Missing faculty member prompts search

University of Illinois Police Department is searching for a University faculty member, as he has not made contact with friends or family since Feb. 16.

Kevin D. Franklin, research professor for the College of Education, is not believed to be in danger, according to a UIPD social media post. However, UIPD, family and friends would like to hear from him.

Out of respect for Franklin’s privacy, UIPD is not sharing any additional information on the ongoing investigation at the moment, UIPD spokesperson Pat Wade wrote in an email.

“We’re really just hoping that someone in our community has some information about where they think he might be,” Wade said.

Anyone who has more information of Franklin’s whereabouts is encouraged to call UIPD at 217-333-1216 or email [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be submitted by contacting Champaign County Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477, 373tips.com or by using the P3 Tips mobile app.
