Champaign

Theft of over $500 was reported on the 300 block of South Second Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender, an acquaintance of the victim’s, stole money from the victim’s pants.

Domestic battery was reported on the 600 block of East Eureka Street around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender was strangling his brother and fled from the police when they arrived and ordered him to stop.

A telephone threat was reported on the 700 block of West New Street around 6:00 a.m. Monday. According to the report, the offender made vague threats towards the Unit 4 school district.

An arrest was made on charges of trespassing on a state-supported property at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., around 10 a.m. Tuesday. According to the report, police were called by an Illini Union staff member who said the arrestee was causing a disturbance. The arrestee had been previously issued a no-trespassing notice for all University property.

An arrest was made on charges of delivery of cannabis and a controlled substance on the 100 block of Village Park Way in Savoy around 8 p.m. on March 28. According to the report, police had obtained a search warrant for the offender’s residence after an investigation into suspected drug activity and found cannabis, alprazolam pills and drug-packaging equipment.

Urbana

Credit card fraud was reported on the 1300 block of Ellis Drive around 4:30 p.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender used the victim’s debit card without her knowledge or consent.

Burglary from a coin-op machine and criminal damage to property were reported on the 800 block of Oakland Avenue around 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the unknown offender pried open a window and door to a fitness center. Once inside, the offender reportedly broke into a soda machine and stole a television set and a video recorder before fleeing.

An arrest was made on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under a revoked license and other traffic tickets on the 600 block of Cunningham Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the arrestee’s vehicle was stopped due to a report of intoxicated driving by a bartender at a local bar. The arrestee reportedly showed indicators of impairment during the initial contact.
