Champaign

Domestic battery was reported in the 800 block of South Mattis Avenue around 4 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, two subjects who are going through a separation entered into a mutual physical altercation.

Theft was reported in the 800 block of South Locust Street around 1 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim claimed an unknown offender stole his Xbox and two games from his residence. 

Aggravated battery was reported at Esquire, 106 N. Walnut St., around 1 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender battered the victim at the bar before leaving the scene. The offender has been identified but not yet located.

University

Arrests were made on the charges of resisting arrest, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of over 10 grams of cannabis on the intersection of Locust and Chalmers streets, around 6 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the suspects’ vehicle was initially stopped by officers for driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Upon being stopped, all of the suspects in the vehicle ran. Two of the suspects were detained shortly after with preliminary charges for one suspect being resisting arrest, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and illegal transportation of alcohol. The other detained suspect was charged with resisting arrest and the possession of over 10 grams of cannabis. 

An arrest was made on the charge of retail theft at Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., around 5 p.m. Friday. According to the report, the suspect was issued a state of Illinois NTA after being caught trying to leave the store with office supplies valued at $56.15.

Credit card fraud was reported Thursday. According to the report, an unknown offender made purchases totaling $155.34 with the victim’s debit card while it was still in the victim’s possession.

Urbana

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 1200 block of Anderson Street around 5 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, an unknown offender used a permanent marker to vandalize and damage the victim’s property, including the exterior of the victim’s home and the victim’s mailbox.

Theft was reported in the 1100 block of West Oregon Street around 5 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a computer accessory from a package ordered by the victim and delivered to the victim’s apartment. 

An arrest was made on the charges of failure to signal, not wearing seatbelts, unlawful use of weapons and cannabis possession over 100 grams on the intersection of Cunningham Avenue and Kerr Avenue around 2 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, after stopping the suspect’s vehicle for a traffic violation, the officer searched the vehicle in response to an odor of cannabis emanating from inside the vehicle. The officer discovered a large quantity of fresh cannabis as well as a firearm, and the suspect was arrested and transported to Champaign County Jail.
