Another armed robbery occurred this morning in Champaign that University police feel is connected to similar armed robberies over the past weekend.

The incidents that occurred over the weekend were detailed in a mass e-mail sent to students by University Police Chief Krystal Fitzpatrick.

“From the information I have, I think they are related,” said Lt. Roy Acree of the University Police. “We’re still looking into it.”

Acree said the armed robbery occurred in Champaign on White Street, but an exact location was not yet available.

University police later confirmed that the robbery took place on the 600 block of East Clark Street.
