Election results finalized in Champaign

With all of the precincts counted, Thomas Bruno won the vote for at-large council member with 4,871 votes for 23.06 percent of the vote. All of the three at-large positions were voted on tonight.

“I think that it’s important that we continue to have a vibrant community, a fun place to live, keep the quality of life up,” Bruno said at tonight’s city council meeting.

Also elected to the council are Deborah Feinen, who got 4,468 votes for 21.15 percent, and Karen Foster, who got 3,909 votes for 18.50 percent.

“There will be so much that I have to learn about each city department,” Foster said at the meeting. “That’s what I’ll be focusing on. Just learning the departments from the inside out.”

Patricia Avery got 2,814 votes for 13.32 percent, Giraldo Rosales has 2,694 votes for 12.75 percent and Annette Williams has 2,329 votes for 11.02 percent.

Results are also available for Champaign Community Unit School District 4’s four-year terms. There were four positions available.

With all of the precincts counted, Greg Novak got the most votes with 5,664 votes for 20.70 percent of the vote.

Also elected to the board is Susan Grey, with 5,342 votes for 19.53 percent. Next is Kristine Chalifoux with 4,143 votes for 15.14 percent and Scott MacAdam with 3,366 votes for 12.30 percent.

Meloyde Rosales, Chuck Jackson, John Bambenek and Minosca Alcantara each received less than 10 percent of the vote.
