Man arrested in ISR parking lot for possession of 8 pounds of cannabis

By Daily Illini Staff Report

A 28-year-old man from Chicago pled not guilty to a charge of possession with intent to deliver between 2,500 to 5,000 grams of cannabis in a Champaign County courtroom Thursday.

Daniel Wrestler was arrested in a parking lot, 1010 W. Illinois St., located near Illinois Street Residence Hall around 12 p.m. Wednesday, University Police Sgt. Joe McCullough said.

Wrestler was found with a package of cannabis weighing in at 3,700 grams, the equivalent of about 8 pounds.

Police tracked the package from out of state and observed Wrestler getting the package out of the bed of a truck, McCullough said.

Police learned of the delivery through an anonymous tip, were able to verify the information from the tip and that Wrestler would be present, McCullough said.
