Killeen elected chairman of Illinois Science and Technology Coalition

University President Timothy L. Killeen was elected as chairman of the board of directors for the not-for-profit organization, the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition.

The ISTC focuses on enriching economic growth and promoting innovation in Illinois. According to a press release, ISTC holds partnerships with companies such as Caterpillar, Motorola Mobility, and John Deere, as well as with universities such as the University of Illinois and Northwestern University.

Mark Harris, president and CEO of the ISTC, said in a press release that he believes Killeen’s experience and enthusiasm will be a great benefit to the ISTC.

“I am eager for the opportunity to build on the ISTC’s capabilities and help unite research institutions, industry, and civic organizations toward our common goal of making Illinois the absolute go-to place for innovation,” Killeen said in a press release.
