Police blotter for July 20, 2015

Champaign

— Credit card fraud was reported on the 500 block of North Mattis Avenue at 10 a.m. Friday. 

According to the report, the victim’s credit card was taken and used without permission. 

— Armed robbery was reported on the 100 block of East Green Street at 6 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, the victim was robbed by three suspects.

— Battery was reported on the 200 block of East Green Street at 2 a.m. Saturday.

According to the report, the two men were seen fighting. The did not listen to the officers when approached and ran from the scene. 

University

— Criminal damage to property was reported at Lincoln Avenue Residence Hall, 1005 S. Lincoln Ave., at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the report, someone threw a rock through the window of a University owned car sometime overnight. The damage is estimated to the vehicle is $300. 

— Deceptive practices was reported at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the victim applied for a job on the online job board. The job did not exist. The victim wired money to an account in Africa with promise of reimbursement from the employer.  

Urbana

— Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported on the 1300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, an offender entered the victim’s car and took multiple items. 

— Forgery was reported on the 1300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, the offender tried to by groceries with counterfeit money. 

— Theft was reported on the 800 block of West Green Street at 8 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, the offender filled their car with gas and left without paying.
