Board of Trustees re-elects chairman

The Board of Trustees voted to re-elect current chairman Ed McMillan to a second one-year at its Chicago meeting Thursday.

McMillan, 69, is a University alumnus and has served as a trustee since 2009; he was elected to his position as chairman in 2015 when Gov. Bruce Rauner took office.

According to a University press release, McMillan works as an independent business consultant following his career as CEO of Purina Mills. He began his career at Purina Mills as a sales representative in 1969.

McMillan studied agricultural science at the University and is the recipient of the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award.

In addition to McMillan, trustees Karen Hasara and James Montgomery were elected to the executive committee.
