Community Health class added in light of recent tragedy

By Daily Illini Staff Report

In the wake of the Orlando tragedy, the College of Applied Health Science has added a new course for the fall. The course title is Trauma, Diversity, and Resilience (CHLH 494).

The class will meet every Tuesday to discuss the effects trauma has on society’s public health through the use of recourses such as case studies, video presentations, experimental learning activities and original journal articles. Students will also study mechanisms of positive change post trauma exposure in addition to methods of prevention.

Undergraduate and graduate students can enroll in the class.
