University Police Chief Jeff Christensen sent out a campus safety notice Monday which said that a University student was sexually assaulted last Wednesday, August 17.

The notice stated that the alleged assault took place in an apartment at the 700 block of South Gregory Place in Urbana.

The person was known to the victim.
