Champaign

  • A 54-year-old male was arrested on the charge of disorderly conduct at the intersection of Fifth and Green streets around 3 p.m. on Sunday. According to the report, the offender was walking around with an open knife.
  • A residential burglary was reported in the 800 block of La Sell Drive around 2 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the suspect went to the front door of the residence and knocked. When the resident did not respond, he attempted to enter through the garage door. The suspect fled after being confronted by the resident and has not been located.
  • A 43-year-old male was arrested on the charge of battery in the 600 block of Crescent Drive around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender battered the victim and was arrested.

University

  • A theft was reported at an athletic field in the 0 block of East Stadium Drive around 6 p.m. Friday. According to the report, a student reported that his wallet had been stolen. The wallet and its contents, which were left unattended, have a total estimated value of $20.
  • A 27-year-old male was arrested on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol near Sixth and Daniel around 1:07 a.m on Saturday. According to the report, the vehicle was initially stopped because it drove over the curb and failed to signal a turn.

Urbana

  • A theft of motor vehicle parts was reported in the 1400 block of West Park Street around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. According to the report, the unknown offender stole the front license plate from the victim’s vehicle while they were at work.
  • An assault was reported near Goodwin Avenue and West Green Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to the report, the unknown offender threatened the victim with physical violence to the point the victim felt in fear of being beaten. The dispute stemmed over Uber services.
  • A case of deceptive practices was reported in the 2000 block of Eagle Ridge Court around 1 p.m. on Friday. According to the report, the victim was scammed over the telephone by the unknown offenders. One claimed to be a family member in distress in need of money and the other claimed to be a deputy from a sheriff’s department, who instructed the victim to purchase a certain number of gift cards to aid the alleged family member in distress.
