Champaign

Residential burglary was reported on the 300 block of Van Doren Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the back door of an apartment was forced open and money was stolen. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Arrests were made on charges of theft at Papa Del’s, 1201 S. Neil St., around 9 a.m. Tuesday. According to the report, two employees were observed on video having alcoholic drinks after work without offering to pay for their drinks. The 27-year-old female and 29-year-old male were observed on video a month prior to the arrest.

University

An arrest was made on charges of probation violation at the 600 block of East Green Street around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the 31-year-old female was initially approached by the police because her car was illegally parked in a turn lane.

An arrest was made at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., around 5 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the 22-year-old female was arrested on charges of failure to appear in court.

Urbana

Reckless discharge of a firearm was reported on the 1200 block of West Bradley Avenue around 5 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, multiple people reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots. The area was checked and nothing was located.

Identity theft was reported on the 700 block of East Pennsylvania Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the victim’s social security number was stolen by an unknown offender and used to open unauthorized accounts.

An arrest was made on charges of domestic battery on the 1600 block of Melrose Park Court around 10 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the victim and arrestee are roommates and the arrestee allegedly threw an object that struck the victim, causing minor injury.
