Champaign

Retail theft was reported at Macy’s, 2000 N. Neil St., around 10 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, an employee was found to have concealed merchandise before attempting to leave the store without paying. The merchandise was recovered and returned to the store, and the employee was issued a notice to appear in court.

University

An Illinois notice to appear in court was issued on charges of illegal possession of a hypodermic needle near Green and Locust Streets around 10 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the 28-year-old female was the passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped because its driver was driving at night without headlights.

A teaching assistant reported around midnight Saturday that she felt threatened by a video a student posted in an online comment section for a course she is teaching. According to the report, the video depicted a video game involving weapons.  

Urbana

Theft under $500 was reported at Steak ‘n Shake, 2009 N. Kenyon Rd., around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender grabbed tip money that was not hers off of a table and then left without returning it.

An arrest was made on charges of theft of over $500 at Meijer, 2500 Philo Rd., around 4 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the arrestee entered the business, selected items from the shelves and passed all points of sale without paying for them.
